Progression Guide

From your first death to the floor 50 boss, one stage at a time

What Survives a Reset

Dying in Loop Dungeon Incremental is not a wipe. It is a transfer. Everything you earn in a run is spent, but everything you spend in the shop is permanent, and later loops hand you a better starting position than the one you had. Progression is therefore a ladder of small permanent advantages stacked on top of each other, and the order you climb it in matters more than the speed.

Permanent After Death

  • • Gold sitting in the bank
  • • Every upgrade level you paid for
  • • Unlocked abilities and tree slots
  • • Achievement progress and best floor record
  • • The higher floor your next loop starts on

Gone After Death

  • • Gold carried in your pocket
  • • All equipment and inventory
  • • Consumables and potions
  • • Current and max HP for the run
  • • Floor-by-floor progress inside the loop

Stage by Stage

Stage 1 - Loops 1 to 5: Survive

The first five loops are about learning the damage rules, not about depth. Your goal is to reach the first boss on Floor 5 or Floor 10 with enough health to survive a mistake, and to bank roughly 500 gold across the stage.

  • • Put every gold into Vitality and Strength first
  • • Take the stairs up whenever a run turns bad; a banked 100g is worth more than a lost floor 8
  • • Do not chase Rare drops yet, the drop quality is still too low to matter

Stage 2 - Loops 6 to 10: Second Tree

Loop 10 unlocks the second upgrade tree, and it is the single biggest power spike in the early game. From here the floors stop being walls and start being a curve. Bank target rises to 1,500 gold, and you should be able to clear a floor in one or two fights instead of a long attrition battle.

  • • Pick the second tree to match your first: Strength pairs with Vitality, Dexterity with Luck
  • • Add Toughness once you can kill a floor 15 enemy without taking damage
  • • Now the mini-boss every ten floors becomes a genuine goal instead of a wall

Stage 3 - Loops 11 to 25: Rare Access

Rare equipment starts appearing around Floor 25, and Rare drops carry roughly 50% bonus stats. This is where a build identity pays off: a Ranger that has stacked Dexterity and Luck suddenly gets a Rare bow that doubles its damage, while a Warrior gets a Rare plate that makes the same floors trivial.

  • • Bank target: 4,000 gold, and start keeping Rare items instead of selling them
  • • Add 5 levels of Luck to hold the line while you push toward Floor 25
  • • Swap your gear on every Rare drop, even if the item is a side grade, because the stat budget is bigger

Stage 4 - Loops 26 to 50: The Floor 50 Boss

Floor 50 holds the first major boss, with roughly ten times normal monster health, multiple attack phases, and a guaranteed Epic drop. Take the preparation checklist seriously and do not attempt it on a run where you had to fight through the floor at low health. You want 2,000 or more HP and a damage number around 50 or higher before you try.

  • • Bank target: 10,000 gold, since the boss should fund your next several loops
  • • Add Toughness and Discovery in 5 level chunks rather than pouring everything into damage
  • • If you die to the boss twice in a row, farm the two floors below it for a run instead of retrying immediately

Stage 5 - Loop 50 and Beyond: Endgame

At Loop 100 the endgame content unlocks, and Epic items are common enough that build polish matters more than raw stat totals. Your upgrades are deep enough that a new player is still climbing while you are farming a floor that no longer threatens you. At this point, play for records and achievements, and let the loops stack naturally.

  • • Spread a little into Discovery, Wisdom and Mana Flow, which were dead stats before
  • • Chase the achievements; they are permanent progress like everything else in the bank
  • • Re-farm the old floors 20 to 30 for gold while your damage outpaces their difficulty

Resource Priority Order

When gold is tight, there is a correct order to spend it in. This is the order that works for almost every build in the first fifty loops, and it is worth following even if your instinct says otherwise.

First

Vitality. No amount of damage helps if a floor 8 enemy ends the run.

Second

Your main damage stat. Enough of it to two-shot a standard monster, and never more than that.

Third

Toughness, to soften the hits you cannot avoid from ranged enemies and bosses.

Fourth

Luck or Dexterity, depending on whether you want faster kills or bigger ones.

Last

Discovery, Wisdom and Mana Flow. They scale your ceiling, not your survival.

When to Reset, When to Push

Reset and Bank

  • • Health is under 40% with no healing item left
  • • You already have enough gold for the upgrade you were saving for
  • • The next floor is two difficulty steps above where you are comfortable
  • • You have been pushing the same wall for three runs with no progress

Push Deeper

  • • You cleared the previous floor without dropping below 80% HP
  • • Your damage one-shots the enemy type you fought last run
  • • The next milestone gear tier is on this floor band
  • • Every extra floor multiplies the gold you bank on the way out
